As a newborn photographer with a deep passion for capturing these fleeting moments, I understand the importance of creating beautiful memories while ensuring your baby's safety.
In this blog, I want to share some of my studio’s ‘Baby First’ safety policies that I maintain during our sessions.
They will help us create stunning images together, while prioritizing the well-being of your baby above all else.
Let's Prepare for a Magical Session: Before we embark on this memorable journey, it's crucial to ensure everything is set for a safe and enjoyable newborn photography session.
Let's plan the session in advance, where we can discuss your preferences, ideas, and any concerns or limitations you may have. Clear communication is key to a successful and safe session.
Creating a Warm and Cozy Environment: Your baby's comfort is paramount during the photo shoot. Let's make sure the temperature is just right! I'll take care of maintaining a warm room temperature between (24-27°C) to keep your little one cozy. We often adjust the temperature through the session accommodate baby’s needs.
To add extra warmth, I might use space heaters, making sure there are no direct drafts that could make your baby uncomfortable.
An Extra Pair of Caring Hands: Your baby's safety is my utmost priority, which is why I always have hands on baby at all times and mum or dad spotting close nearby at all times. Baby is never left unattended.
Focus on Safe Posing Techniques: I want to assure you that I have extensive training and experience in safe posing techniques for newborns. Here's what we'll keep in mind:
I prioritize simple, natural and comfortable positions that mimic your baby's natural movements.
Any props we use, like baskets, blankets, or pillows, will be soft, clean, and provide adequate support. I avoid any props with sharp edges or potentially hazardous components.
It is a strict studio policy to stay away from ALL risky poses that might compromise your baby's airway, neck, or spine. Your little one's well-being is my top concern, and I will never put them in any unsupported or potentially harmful positions.
Patience and Gentleness: Newborns require a calm and soothing atmosphere for their photography session. I'm here to create that environment for your baby.
We'll allow for breaks whenever needed, whether it's for feeding, changing, or simply comforting your little one. I understand that babies have their own rhythm and needs, and we'll work around that.
Throughout the session, I will handle your baby with the utmost care, ensuring their head and neck are always supported. I understand how delicate they are, and I will always be gentle to prevent any accidental harm.
I am truly honoured to be a part of capturing these precious moments with your newborn. By following these essential posing tips, we will create stunning images that you will cherish forever, while prioritizing your baby's safety.
