When should I book my portrait session? (Maternity, Newborn, Family)
Maternity Session: Best booked for anytime between 32 and 36 weeks.
Newborn Session: Best booked anytime between 5 and 12 days old.
We can be fully booked out a month or two in advance. Please book as early as you can to avoid disappointment!
How do I book my session?
You can book via email or over the phone, simply contact me to find out available dates and we can guide you through the rest of the process.
What do I bring to my session?
Maternity Session: Just your beautiful self! All styling is provided.
Newborn Session: Yourself and your new baby, your nappy bag, and extra bottles and formula if bottle feeding your baby.
Children/Family Sessions: We recommend bringing two or three outfits for everyone participating in the session. You can also opt for 'Suitcase Styling' for a less stressed option!
'Suitcase Styling': Throw in a mix 'n' matched pile of clothing options for each person into a suitcase or bag and bring it with you on the day of your session. We will style it together with what's in the bag! Have fun and get creative! Bring some 'dress ups'!
N.B. Please, no shoes required for children when booking a studio session.
What do I do about Hair and Makeup for my session?
Either come 'photo ready' with your Hair +Make up already done, bring your kit and use my bathroom to do your own at the studio or contact me to arrange a HMUA through the studio (additional $150)
When do I pay for my photographs?
Session Fees/Booking Fees: Required to confirm your session date. Must be received at the time of booking.
Purchases: Full payment or a minimum 50% deposit payment is required at your Ordering Appointment, which is booked within two weeks of your session day.
Do you have payment plans? Can I use Afterpay?
Yes! We have payment plans! We require a 50% deposit of your total invoice amount at your Ordering Appointment. Flexible payment arrangements can be discussed with full payment required within 4 weeks of your Ordering Appointment.
Currently, we do not offer Afterpay.
How long will it take to get my photographs?
Within two weeks of your portrait session, your final gallery will be ready. We'll make arrangements for your Ordering Appointment - which will take place on a weeknight in your own home - and you will be able to purchase products and packages from your gallery at this time.
Once final payment has been received, you will receive your images and product orders will be placed. Some products can take between 2 - 6 weeks to arrive, depending on the product you have purchased.
Do you provide images on cd or usb?
No, CD's are already becoming outdated and usb's and flashdrive's will eventually corrupt, leaving you with no family memories at all.
Your digital images are provided to you in an online gallery, password-protected and stored in the cloud, for the safest, digital storage option I can provide to you. We highly recommend you to download your images and save them to other locations on your PC, device or HD. Make two digital copies and store the other backup at an off-site location. (Grandparent's are a great option!)
Why do I get prints with my digital package?
Because prints are the ONLY GUARANTEED backup! Other than cloud storage (as long as you have internet access.) Should anything happen to your external harddrive, if your cd's or usb's end up corrupted over time, or you accidently delete or format your images, I can take a new high resolution photograph of your print and re-create a digital file for you.
Once a digital file is lost - it's lost - you might be able to retrieve it through your recycle bin or with (costly) data recovery, or you might not.
Digital files are not archival, Printed photographs are archival. When looked after correctly, your prints will last for 75 - 100 years or more!
Your prints are more important than sentimentality - they are your ONLY true back up.
Do you have a bluecard?
Photographers are not required to hold bluecards, and every year I check the Qld laws and I am always told the same thing. Photography is not an industry that requires a Bluecard.
This is because you, as parents, are always present with your children throughout a session - either in studio or outdoors - your children will always be within eye sight. We do not require bluecards when you are supervising your children at all times.
TERMS and CONDITIONS
The negatives/digital files remain the property of the Studio and will be kept on file a period of 12 months. I/we may be able to negotiate with the Studio for release of the negatives/digital files. I/we acknowledge that The Studio reserves the right to release only those images deemed creditable as professional in quality.
The Studio also retains complete control over which images are delivered in colour and which images are delivered in black and white. During the retouching phase for images printed through The Studio, The Studio will retouch any mark that will not be present in two weeks (i.e., acne). Accordingly, I/we acknowledge that the images shall not be subject to rejection on the basis of taste, aesthetic criteria, or personal appearance.
ADDITIONAL IMAGES/RAW IMAGES
Under no circumstance will The Studio release RAW images to Clients. The Studio selects the best representation of the images taken at the portrait session for the Client gallery, and all other images are deleted during the culling process; therefore, no additional images can or will be released to the Client.
LIMIT OF LIABILITY: The Studio represents that reasonable care is taken with respect to capturing, developing, processing, storing and delivery of images. However, in the event that The Studio fails to comply with the obligations of this contract, for any reason, including but not limited to events outside of The Studio's control or The Studio's own negligence, The Studio's liability shall be limited to a refund of all payments made by the Client. The limit of liability for a partial loss of original images shall be a prorated amount of the exposures lost based on the percentage of total number of original images. If there is a failure to capture certain images that I/we requested or that were discussed at the consultation, such omissions shall not void this agreement nor be a breach of this agreement and will not cause any compensation to be made to the Client, and The Studio shall not be liable for the same.
Regarding ordering photographs, I/we also understand:
Orders must be placed at the Ordering Appointment, otherwise prices current at the time of ordering will apply and I/we will pay all reasonable freight and postage that I/we request. If a subsequent Ordering Appointment needs to be made, a $100 rescheduling fee will apply.

Upon full payment of the invoice, prints and products will be prepared to the highest quality the Studio can provide. All orders will be ready for pickup from the Studio at a convenient time, arranged by you and the Studio. You will be notified by email when your order is complete and ready for pickup.
Should you require delivery, this will be charged at appropriate freight rates as determined by the Studio. I/We agree to pay any additional freight costs before items are delivered.
Regarding alterations, changes, returns and refunds, I/we understand:
Due to the custom nature of prints and products, no changes, adjustments or alterations can be made once your order has been submitted for printing/production. Due to the custom nature of downloadable products, any and all requests for refunds or returns once digital files have been received by the client will be denied.
Due to the custom nature of photographic services, it is not possible to offer returns once orders have been submitted for printing/production as products cannot be resold. Refunds will be considered per client and per request. Refunds or replacements may be offered if a product is faulty. All products are inspected before delivery for any damages. Requests for refunds due to damage will be assessed per request.
Regarding non-payment of orders:
I/we acknowledge that if full or final payment is not made, any and all monies already paid to the Studio will not be refunded. Any partial payments already made to the Studio are considered forfeit and any claims for refunds will be denied. Should full or final payment not be made to the Studio within 6 months of initial order, the order will be cancelled.
